Robyn McCallister

Robyn McCallister with a horse at Horse ReCourse in Fort Bragg California

For over 20 years, Robyn McCallister of Robyn’s Horse Play has been taking in horses in need of homes, rehabilitating and training them, and placing them with responsible owners. She often has received referrals to pick up feral horses, which cannot be handled, and move them to a safe place, where they can be trained, and receive care.  Many of these horses have never had proper veterinary or farrier care, are frightened of humans, and are dangerous to approach.  They required a skilled professional to address their needs.

Robyn has been a professional horsewoman all of her life. She has had her own private training business and assisted other professionals in many different disciplines. Robyn has a broad view of horsemanship, and can accurately assess a horse’s individual needs and strengths. She has a knack for establishing the right focus for each individual, be it trail riding or competitive goals.

It has been said that Robyn is “the horses’ social worker”. She is open-minded about the various options for each horse, and her connections throughout California and beyond help her cast a large net in her search for the right homes. Robyn is able to match horses and riders with long-term success for both. Her goals are to find the right livelihood for the horse so that they can be a beloved member of a family.

More information about Robyn’s experience can be found on her website.
